Movement Critique

On Sep. 26 I to a 7 yr old, 15.3, TB Gelding. He was a racehorse. But he hasn't raced in 4 yrs. After racing he was taught dressage... I'm not sure how much. He w/t/c but I'm not sure what else he can do. After being taught dressage he became a trail horse for a beginner rider. He hasn't been ridden or worked in at least 6 months. I was wondering if you guys could critique his movement and maybe tell me how much you think he is worth and also how far he could go in dressage. Thanks everyone!!

It's hard to tell from the videos, and especially since he hasn't been in work for 6 months. He looks eager and happy, but his trot step is a little short and fast, as well as his canter step. But he could easily go a little differently under saddle. He is cute, and seems capable of doing lower level dressage. I would have to see under saddle videos to tell you more, but good luck and keep us updated!

He seems really short strided and very quick legged to me. Agree...need to see him under saddle to better evaluate him.

Yeah, he sure looks cute. But need some more vids with him more collected. It just looks like hes having a good ol time in the round pen getting all his energy out (:

Once we get to know each other and I start riding him I'll make sure to get videos so you guys can see how he moves undersaddle. Thanks again!
