Nothing is going on up here, there are bad horse owners every where, check out your own country. You might want to check out the good old USA's history on how they treated horses.
I do not agree with any miss treatment of any animal. The fines that people receive are not enough, some are not fined at all. For me, how about we do to them what they have done to these beautiful animals.

Stormyheart rescues horses herself. She knows perfectly well how bad it is in the USA.

I agree that the current consequences to animal abuse and neglect are not sufficient.

Stormy, it's not that something is going on now, it's just coming out in the open a bit more. It's nothing new, and the RCMP will tell you that, in fact, they even said it on the news last night. It's horrible. Hay prices are good, and there is plenty available. There is no reason why these horses shouldn't have been fed, and no excuse for it. The problem will always exist, as the people who do this will always exist.

Okay, a little update. They were on the news tonight again. Mike (Bear Valley Rescue) was talking about the fact that there is always someone neglecting or abusing horses.
And as for the actual horses, they're thin, and weak. I asked them about them today. The yearling is down, and not getting up. They managed to get her up, but she layed back down right afterwards and hasn't gotten back up.

I'm seriously surprised these horses are alive... considering there were six others dead in the pasture.

Pray for the yearling, she's not looking particularly good.

ETA: Video from tonight's news...

I think we might need to relax tiny bit. Nobody is tring to start an international arguement. Knowing Stormyheart for the animal lover that she is, I think her question was perfectly legitimate.

As I remind people over and over, we are all horse lovers, that is why we are here. Let's work together to solve the problems out there, not argue among ourselves.

Everybody is named now. The three bay mares are Badger, Trey and Deuce, the appy filly is Maggie, the little one is Miracle, and the stud is Alberta.

Everyone is getting the TLC they now deserve. To bad they never had it from the start otherwise they wouldn't be in this condition.

Seeings that you are a new member here, and the above quoted was your very first post, I will excuse and ignore your outburst towards me. I can fully understand your anger and frustration at the situation for those horses......for ANY horse that is suffering!!!

Stick around......you will soon see what I'm talking about.

I couldn't agree with you more on doing to the people what they have done to the animals!!! Maybe if some had to suffer like they make animals suffer, there would be a lot less suffering going on.

I asked my question out of concern and love for horses. I honestly don't think that there is anyone on this forum who is as passionate about them as I am. I'm not trying to take anything away from the other horse owners on here, but I fight daily, from sun up to sun down, and sometimes all night long to help horses in need. Where others will stop fighting for horses, I will continue fighting.

I will be praying that those horses will be rehomed into loving families, and given the care and attention they deserve to have. I will also be saying an extra prayer for the little one that is so weak it doesn't want to stand. If I can help in any way, just pm me!!!
