Talking Mocha's first U/S show! *PICS*

Well this past weekend was the CWHA show at Birds Hill here in Manitoba. I decided to throw Mocha in as many riding classes as I humanly could within reason for the heck of it, since we had only done halter at the last show because it had been her first ever.

The entire day was a monsoon, but they never called the show until it was time for the speed classes. The wind was howling, we had tornado watches on and off all day and I have never seen so much sideways rain in my life but we kept going. Thankfully the judge called off the hat rule, felt only does so good after being blown into the first lake of a puddle, so most of us opted to go bareheaded. We all were frozen, soaked to the bone and horses weren't too happy with us.

Four of us went, and everyone did amazing.

Mocha actually placed!!!!

5th in Trail (She was awesome, even did a back and forth sidepass over the pole and we'd only started working on sidepass the day before)

3rd in 2-3 year old snaffle (She was done for the day already, her transitions were horrible, otherwise she would have done better)

6th in Western Pleasure (I joked about this with the judge in the class, Mocha was a speed demon!)

I was so insanely proud of her. I wasn't expecting her to place at all and aside from some things we have work on, for where we were training wise she was such a good girl.

Here are some pics: (You can't see the rain coming down but trust me it was there)

Hopefully we'll be more polished for our next show, maybe even get our lead changes down and go into some speed classes.

But it was fun, I'd do it again in a heart beat, rain and all.

Here are some other pictures from the last while too:

Thanks for looking!

We are actually thinking of starting her english as well, when you get her working in a nice extended trot her front feet just snap out.

Thanks!
