Miniature Foal #1

Well, we have our first foal! Technically it doesn't belong to us (the mare is being boarded and is owned by a friend) but I thought I'd share anyways.

I'm going to post the pictures as links because they're quite big and there are some actual delivery pictures, so if you want to skip those, go ahead... The delivery happened so quickly we didn't even have time to move Lily inside!

Delivery just starting... Two hooves poking out. 5:00 pm

The head is out...

Almost all the way out now! She had to have some assistance as the shoulders were stuck.

Getting dried off... A filly!!! 5:10 pm

Me with the new little girl. Haha, think I'm happy?

Testing out her legs

And lastly... Inside with her blankie on and in her comfy bed!

Awwww..she is just the cutest thing! And what a well trained momma to pop a foal out when there is enough light to see and people to watch instead of waiting until 3am.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the pictures I was very surprised she foaled when she did, I mean heck 5pm?!?! AWESOME! If only the rest of my mares would do that instead of 3am... Smart mare, hehe.
