milky-ish pee.

my TB gelding peed in the barn tonight ):

and the past few times I have watched him pee I can see it from yards away its yellow but looks kinda milky-ish..its not a really bright yellow but a dull yellow, and also looks kinda thick when its comming out (but its deffinitly liquid lol.). I was wondering if thats bad because my TWH (gelding) his pee is just bright yellow and dosn't look like my tb's.

is it okay?

I'm not really sure.. I know that when the bladder is being completely emptied the urine will be cloudier and duller in colour.. but thats it sorry!

Just a quick question, when the pee ends up on the ground does it look sort of white.

no, but it looks like you could have taken really bright pee and mixed it with milk..and made a really creamy dullish color yellow. it kinda looks thick like milk does though.

Have you checked for dehydration.....do the skin pinch test.
just another thought, have you taken your horse temp yet.

Maybe you could have a chat with your vet, just in case.
It may be because he hasn't drunk enough.

I was asking about the white on the ground, because that would indicate to much protein.

Would suggest you start him on tea-leaves any brand, equivalent to 5 to 6 bags a day in feed...(but remove bag and string or you will have major bowel problem)
This will put a lining on the kidney and help him pee.

Hope that helps.

Probably just peeing out extra calcium. Usually when they are dehydrated the urine gets darker.

My mares go from straw clear to cloudy gold depending on what hay they are getting.
