7 things I learned in 3 days in the Canyon:
1) My God is amazing!
2) Geology is hokey.
3) I can be in awe without a camera in hand (and more so even).
4) I am in love with the Canyon.
5) I want to do this for the rest of my life.
6) Lizards are nifty cool.
7) Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

We just bought a new horse trailer. As in, about half an hour ago. We've been looking for a new one for a little while. We have a great Logan 2HS that we love but it is starting to get pretty rusty in the front from rock chips so we were going to have to put quite a bit of money into fixing it up. We thought that instead of putting the money into fixing this one, we'd sell it and put the money toward a new one (well, not new new, but newer). Since we have so many horses (8 last time I counted),...
Yep, that's right, I'm GOING!!!!
It's actually really strange. I cannot believe that I'm going

(But didn't I always say that I would?)
So here's the low-down on the past few days.
I worked Fri-Sun at the golf course. Sat and Sun were pretty crazy because I had to clean Jan's (my dressage coach's) barn before work, and the golf course is 45 min in the other direction. So basically Sat and Sun are my lovely 13 hr days where I'm out the door by 6:30 am...

Am I strange to feel guilty for profiting from the careless rich?
After a day (10.5 hours) on the job, I'm pretty sure I nabbed a pretty swell summer job. I don't have supervisors, I have my own cash float, my own inventory, and I do my own thing all day. I load up my cart, and then for the rest of the day drive around the course, stopping for people who want something to drink. Then when I get sick of driving, I stop the cart at a junction and sit there, in the sun, reading my book,...

So I had heard tell that my boss was wanting to buy my dressage saddle back. I sent her an email this weekend saying that yes, I would sell it back (given that I could still ride Max in it this summer). I was really anxious to hear back, I wanted to use that money towards the SouthWest Studies trip. So today I found out. She said no. Which, at first, I was disappointed about, but then I decided that it's OK because if I am meant to go on this trip, then there will be other means
I had a...
