Hey there! How does one get an invite to your Warmblood Breeding Club?

no I don't think she's heavy at all. i think her neck connection is a little low and coarse and that might be decieving. I'd be looking for something built uphill with a good neckset, but I don't think heaviness will be a problem. And even if the baby came out a little heavy, some of the heavier horses are the best jumpers (ie: the G line, Landgraf, etc).

I haven't made a decision on mine. I'm leaning toward not breeding her next year, but I dunno. We'll see how life is looking next spring. If I get preggo by then I'll breed her. If not I probably won't.

Ah right I forgot about the frozen. I wonder if he'll have fresh available next season.

Would you consider her heavy? I'm so used to lanky TBs and such.

Any progress with YOUR stallion search?

I definitely need to invest in a martingale LOL. Her head goes UP as soon as she is pointed at the fence.

I need to email Justice's owner...And actually Vallado's too. His farm has like 50% discounts if you book by October. I really do like his type a lot-- doesn't embarrass himself in the hunters, but can do some pretty high level jumpers. He's lighter too.

Oh yeah, no hunters for her. Nikki loooooooves her, and she's one heck of an accomplished jumper rider. She took her over a teeny vertical yesterday, and while this is not flattering at all, the mare likes her long hunter distances Nikki just let her pick her distances and she chose a long spot every time (which was like 3 times).

I got better pics and video of Mariah yesterday actually being asked to move out. Still not thrilled with the trot though!

Haven't gone out there yet today; heading out in a little. I gave her 3300mg (enough for a 1100lb horse, which seems more accurate than 1200) Saturday afternoon, but she did not get any more until yesterday evening around 6. I fed it to her at nearly 1am last night, and the barn worker is supposed to feed her at 8am and 5pm for the next few days. It was hard to judge last night when the poor mare was confused about this strange person bothering her in the middle of the night LOL. I'll let ya know when I get back

I really don't have the option of putting her in a box stall, which would be the only way to eliminate the "herd environment." She's in her own paddock, but it is adjacent to two others. The horses all hang out in the corner where they all connect. The barn has pipe stalls, but they can obviously mingle with the horses on either side, and every 5 pipes or so is connected to a little turnout and every horse gets 1/5 of the day in it...So she'd have even more horses to visit with.

Before I got her she was turned out with ONE gelding during the day, and he was also in a pipe next to her at night. She was more than fine being removed from him, but not the other way around. She'd fall asleep in the crossties that were absolutely not within sight of either the paddock or the stall. That's what makes me think it's more than just her being herd sour.

Once she was under saddle she wasn't paying any attention to her herd whatsoever. Oddly enough the direction she was going when she reared that time she WAS tracking away from her herd, though it's a good 350ish feet from the arena and not within view. I think she was going a different direction when she started going up previously though.

She's also the one who doesn't really sweat. It would be really interesting to see if she was working up a nervous sweat or anything.

I'll see when I can get Nikki out to ride her again, but until then, would video of her in the crossties be of any use? It would show how insanely anxious she is.

I need a new project! Looking for something 2-7 years old, 15.3 or bigger. OTTB, QH, something like that. Broke or not, but gotta be sound. Would also consider a large pony. Under 1k. Located in or near TX.
