I missed Chance so much....while on our vacation, I was reading "Chicken Soup for the Horse Lovers Soul". Great short stories about relationships with horses or experiences with horses..... some "rescue" horses, etc....made me miss Chance even more! Some of these stories bring tears to my eyes.

LOL for the first time in my life I went riding bareback. It was so cool. My friend had suggested I buy (or use hers) a bareback pad...but I wanted to feel it really bare 1st. Jerry boosted me up and away we went. It was funny, cause I brushed Chance, then put his bit in and started walking to the arena. He was looking at me kinda wierd like..."haven't you forgotten something....like a SADDLE????" So we rode...and Jerry had already put the barrels out because I said later I would want...

Well, last weekend, I brought a "friend" to the stables with me, her request. She attends our church on occasion, and her parents are regulars...sit behind me and hubby every Sunday. She wants to learn more about horses, maybe ride alittle, etc. So I obliged, let her brush Chance, I saddled him and rode the "energy" out of him and then let her ride him...just walk of course, since it has been a long time since she has ridden. I will NEVER forget the look on Chances face!...

Well, guess I am not so good at this journaling thing....look how long it has been again! But I have been VERY busy. My son and his family came in for the week of 4th of July, as well as my mom. We went to San Antonio, Sea World and the riverwalk .... IN SPITE OF THE RAIN. We had to buy umbrellas and my grandson wore a poncho...he looked so cute! Gosh, not even "the" day yet and I am getting teary. Just out of nowhere like after it first happened, I start having flash backs of him in the hospital and then the funeral home and my bro crying and me balling my eyes out....there was no "funeral". He was "unviewable". We had a memorial service at home. I'm hoping that having the rest of my family here starting tomorrow, thru next Saturday, that this will help me to not get all emotional. I hate showing...
