It would cost me nearly $700 just to ship her here and I can't even afford one that is local at this time since I want to make darned sure I have enough to rebreed this spring.

It certainly isn't the Kentucky Derby or Scottsdale - but it has it's perks. You CAN win money and such but I am in it for the experience at first and then later on for serious competition. This will be my first ride with the association so it will be taken slowly and step by step. Pepper has to have his coggins by then (Nov) - I thought shots but those are due in Jan for him and Cassia - so I may have a second opinion done on Cassia in case the foal COULD have been missed while we have the two of them there. Coggins is required at all times in TX and he has to have one for the competition. It will either be a palpation or an ultrasound if we do it.

Joined ACTHA the competitive trail riding association for the USA. My Mom is considering competing Cassia in it eventually. For now she may go with me when I compete on Pepper as a buddy horse. I'll definitely use Cassia's foal for this as they can accumulate ribbons, prizes, points, etc.

Yeah....Vanilla Zip is a nice one.
