Rick I am printing off your test now. If by chance that thread gets closed I will PM you my answers. Keep in mind I am a social worker so I will probably make my answers generic to keep from humanizing them to much. I know the definition section won't be bad. As you stated stimuli and the other definitions are applied in my trade everyday. I will apply that to what I know about horses.
OK Professor Rick, everything is printed now. I am going to hit the books. Thanks for the challenge. I needed something to do this cold Sunday afternoon.

Hi and thanks for the message.

Truth is, if you understand human behavioral science, then you have at least a basic grasp of equine behavior science. I know that you could well answer the 'definition' questions I posed as they have fairly universal meaning and employment.

Hope you have a great holiday season, and don't be a stranger on the forums.

    Rick

Hello Rick, I haven't seen you in awhile. I don't usually go in the training and health sections. I just wanted you to know your test just blew me away. You don't realize how much you don't know until you are around people that do know. I am glad I never claimed to be anything but a horse lover. On the bright side if you gave me a test on human behavioral science I think I would do better.
Merry Christmas my friend. I hope you and yours are well.

    Hi Shannan,

I'm sorry you have having such a bad time with this problem.

I read on the forum where the surgeon advises against the surgery because it may weaken p3 and/or cause it to fracture. My question is, absent surgery, how is the vet going to get the situation resolved? I understand about giving the horse the supplements/Recovery etc, but what is the plan should they not work?

I also think that you should discuss with your farrier, having a hospital plate made and affixed to the bottom of the shoe. This will keep the foot clean, allow you to pack medication into the bottom of the foot without having to bandage, allow you to soak the foot(by removing the plate) if indicated, etc. There is probably more that I would do if this option were exercised, but at least you can have a conversation with your farrier about it.

    Rick

You left messages on some of my threads about my lame horse suggesting EPM. I just wanted to let you know that the most recent vet agrees with you and we are testing her for EPM. She actually has a lot of symtoms that match.
