Keerah, I am sure you're not a bad person! There are always two sides to a story and I hope for your brother's sake y'all can get along! I don't get along with my husband's sisters - they are pills!

Nylon is a much stronger material for sure! I got my husband a wintec western saddle, it's only been used 4 times, and I will keep that for ever, as it's gonna last for ever....I wish I had never sold my western saddle, I used to ride western on some trail rides, even though I showed english....my old boy could do it all....hey I pulled up a pic of him in harness, I should show it to you...we were out for a drive in the state park, my friend also had a cart and horse, and we (4 of us) went on a picnic drive....what a blast we had...

My poor D'Artgnan got picked on all the time, no matter where I kept him, till I got my own place, then he was the king of the pasture, and no horse that was put in with him ever picked on him, nor did he pick on them....I have been lucky that in 23 years, I have managed to keep up to 4 horses at one time, together, and they all got along, no bite marks or kick marks....but they always had their pecking order, all my mare has to do is look at the mini with her ears pinned, and he will high tail it...he likes to adjatate her, to get her to play....he will go up to her and rear up, putting his front feet on her neck or shoulder....then she will rear, and they will take off running.....I hope they replace your girth for your new saddle, that sucks to have something new like that break! Glad you husband did not get hurt!

Here's a pic of Mikey, taken last winter, his mane is now 4 times as long. and he had gotten more of a white blanket over his haunches...I don't know if he will continue to lighten up, he has white hairs mixed all in his coat....and with appys, you sometimes don't know from one year to another, what color they are going to be....I think he had grown over the 38 inch mark, which makes him a small pony, but he will always be a mini to me...This pic is when I first got him, he was 3 years old, you can see he loves to play with my dog...

I can't wait till spring, so I can get new pics of him

Side Saddle is not as hard as it looks! Jumping is sorta weird, but actually posting to a trot, and cantering is quite comfey.....Fox Hunting was a hoot, My horse did not take to it well, he thought it was a race...when we went on a chase....I ended up hunting horses that the barn had for sale, because they were easier to ride....funny D'Artagnan was great on competitive trail rides, and awlsome in the hunter ring....I guess the hounds, and excitement was just too much for him....I only hunted one season, it's expensive, and I was making life changes, and buying my first house...so I opted out, but would love to hunt again some day, even if it's just hill topping in a buggy....The guy that was the hunt master, also was into combined driving, and I got the driving bug...taught my horse D'Artagnan to drive, and a 3 year old that I raised, and then sold....broke my friend's horse to drive...and now need to do my mini, how do you shrink a horse sized meadowbrook and harness....I hate to part with it, but don't see me having the money to get what I need for Mikey, I know if I trade it to the amish I could have a nice wagon, and harness for him....decisions decisions....

I had to wait till I was out of high school, and working to even buy my first horse, and I have had horses ever since....spent a lot of money along the way...learned from some good trainers, had a blast fox hunting....now I am retired sorta, got to do some trail riding last summer when my friend brought her two horses to live with me....I hope to do some more this spring and summer.....but am really looking foward to teaching my mini to drive....need a harness and cart for him...

I haven't rode in years and I am looking forward to getting back in the saddle. Horses have always been my very first love and I have been away way too long. I started with ponies at 5 and moved up to a QH at 12. Had my horse at a racing barn and at a QH show barn. I have always either rode bareback or western but am considering a change and a challenge to go English! I am currently in the market for a horse that will be my stress relief and physical workout!
