    Hi Bonnie,

The boys are recovering really well from the surgeries. Landon is doing a lot better than Weston tolerating the pain though. He was asking for cake 6 hours after surgery! Weston is just starting to eat more solid food and is finally getting his appetite back. Our county fair is going on and we took them to the Tractor Pull Friday night. They were a little subdued but they really had a good time.

Thanks for thinking of us, how are things going with you???

Hey Bonnie! Things are to say the least a little nuts around here. We are going through a major transition at work and it has been a little trying. Six new residents have moved in in the past week and we have 2 managers and 1 full time gal on vacation, so I have been putting in a lot of extra hours to help cover. I've been wanting to get new pictures of the babies, but the weather has been less than cooperative for me. We've been very fortunate so far (knock on wood) that we have not sustained any damage from any of these nasty storms that have been rumbling through lately. Last Thursday a tornado touched down 5 miles south of us and took out Dave's cousins hog confinement building and a neighbors barn and grain bin. The storm last night was kind of bad too while I was at work. One of the residents stopped me in the hall and asked if I had ever seen a full rainbow at 9 o'clock at night... sure enough there was a perfect rainbow against the dark storm clouds. It was kind of eerie looking...

I'll try and get some pictures of the kids soon. Oh and speaking of kids.... I took the boys to an ENT specialist yesterday and they are both getting their tonsils and adenoids taken out July 21st and Landon is getting tubes put in his ears. I feel like a bad mommy, but the specialist reassured us that it will cut down on the infections they get in the winter time...

Hey how did the big trail ride come out?? Or has it taken place yet?

Lori - How are things going for you? You must be up to your ears in work. Did you have any damage from that last storm? We need some growing baby photos, ya know. Check out my thread about our friend's baby molly mule if you need a grin! http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...ix-208645.html

Things seem to be improving, slowly but surely. We heard that Vinton should be back on 100% power by Wednesday. Yeah, it will be so nice to get back to normal at work. Paper plates and plastic and no air has been kind of a pain. Hwy. 150 will take at least a month to be safe to drive on and that's just gravel. They're not sure when it will be paved again.

Dave has the beans all planted and most of the spraying done. He cut the hay Saturday and is raking it now. Should be ready to bale later this afternoon. So, things are looking up.

    Thanks for thinking of us.

Lori - How are things up your way? I think about you alot. Yes, I did see that tv news segment with the washed out road. Incredible. Recovery is going to take a long time. So glad you guys were spared the flood waters, but I know the rough weather has been hitting your area.

The forecast for the next week is looking very promising for that. I pray we get no more rain for at least a couple of weeks now. Bonnie did you see on the news last night that there are huge chunks of 150 completely washed away? We have friends who live north of the river bridge and it's going to take them an hour w/detours to get to town now.

Boy, I'm out of the loop on this one. Hope I get it posted right... My part-time job has turned full-time temporarily due to the flood. Dave the kids and I are doing fine. The north part of Vinton is a disaster though. Our jail, fire station and courthouse are in jeopardy and probably 50-75 homes are flooded to the first floor. Sandbagging efforts have proven to be kind of futile at this point. Just need prayers for these people. I feel so bad for all of them.

And Mary if you want to come up and pick up some mares and foals, great. jk.. ) All 20 of them decided to go through the fence and go on a 2 mile trek yesterday morning. A herd of deer moved through and spooked them....
