The normal dose of Bute is 1 gram twice a day for up to 3 days. I would imagine that is what your vet would tell you.

So far, I haven't seen a horse that had to have this done to determein between neuro and pain. Unfortunately, they have all been pretty dang neurological by the time they got to the clinic.

Hey, where about are you near SF? I'm going up north next weekend to check out UCSC and UCD. I'm definitely more interested in UCSC but I've never been there. Do you know anything about the horse community up that way?

So I guess I better get my butt in gear and update my blog.

We took Kezi to Stinebeck last week. Funny thing, I planned on her taking an hour in to get into the trailer, and she took like 10 minutes! Ha! We got there a bit early which was nice.
We were seen by Dr. Eastman, who is very good with lamness. He examed her and did a block in the knee and felt that the lamness was deffinatly in the knee.
He then did x-rays of the neck and found two vertabre that have artheritis...

I was reading this post on BayEquest yesterday from a woman who was concerned about keeping her horses outside during the rain. I am always flabbergasted when people seem to be unsure weather their perfectly healthy horses can be outside in the rain! I mean where do thay think horses come from? Some beautiful stable in the wild?

Anyway, I do agree that 99% of horses will not go inside given the choice.

I however have to own one of those 1%! Lucy will live in her covered...

I finally put the horses in the new pasture!!!!

Considering that the pasture was put in before I brought Kezi home, and I have had her for several months now, I left it pretty long! But Lucy is well enough to be in there now! I am sooooo happy!!

I was pretty much forced to put her in there. Her paddock was unsuitable for her to be in it, she was pretty much skiing down the hill, so I put in her in stall area with the hay, but she isn't...

I took Lucy out for a ride last night after not having riden her for over a week. I was pretty sure she was feeling it because she was running around her paddock and making more of a fuss then she had in a while.

Even though I had only been riding her again for a couple weeks she had already started to get back into shape!
For some weird reason that I will not understand I decided to ride without my helmet. I never ride without my helmet unless its a quick bareback ride around...

I just made Kezi's appointment for at Stinebeck today. Its funny because after getting off the phone with Stinebeck I had to call Nancy who wanted to know who I was seeing so she could call them about what she found with Kezi, then called Kasey to let her know what vet I was going to see so she too could call the vet and talk with them about Kezi.
The vet world loves me, not only do I supply them with good incomes, but I also give them good learning cases.

So anyway, Nancy...
