OK dude, well I tried it last night...seemed to work a bit better, but the back 1/4 to 1/3 of the saddle seems to pop up when I do it....is that normal?? The rest feels REALLY good I also didn't have it girthed up...and it does have Cair....so I'm thinking that when I sit in it &/or girth it up, the back in will be weight more. Seems if I put any amount of pressure back there it sits down alot better.....so did I do it right by the sounds of things???

I can't get a sweat photo, since Torreau is still on light work! *sigh* I think there is something up in the left HIND now! I'm jsut having NO LUCK with this horse these last few months! Chiro appt for Nov 30 (soonest I could get) so here's hoping it's something small & fixable with 1 treatment!

Just slide the tips of your fingers between the saddle and the horse's back - touching both

do you do finger tips touching the horse or the saddle?? Honestly my wrist lacks alot of ranch of motion b/c of my break, perhaps that's my problem too......I honestly feel VERY dumb, like I'm so un-coordinated doing it, and my elbow ends up hitting me in the gut....please, feel free to laugh at my struggle, at least I will know someone is getting something outta it

If you're trying to get your whole hand under the saddle, that's your problem. Lift the flap just enough to get your hand up there, but just run your fingers under the edge. That's enough to feel whether it's bridging or likely going to rock

Ok, one more question.....I'm REALLY struggling with the "feeling undereath" part when the saddle if on the back. I try to run my hands under it, but I just end up lifting the saddle up off the back! I feel so dumb, and I think "how the heck do people DO this!?!?" Any tricks??
Oh and I took your advice and finally remembered to take my rubber inserts out to the barn & put them into the Wintec Isabell for Torreau, to help take the pressure off the front & back of the due to it being too flat for his shape. I honestly think it fits MUCH better.....No sweat mark impressions yet as he's on light work (tendonitis in the left shoulder) so he never breaks a sweat with his limited work outs, but I'll be looking at them once he's back to full work!

LOL, you're welcome! It really does take looking at saddle after saddle after saddle after... and THEN looking at them on various horses. What you can't see just looking at pictures is the middle of the saddle - just can't see its profile. For that, you need the saddle in hand, and then need to lay hands on the saddle and horse and get all intimate with the fit, including underneath. It's fun though!

Hey, just wanted to thank you.....I think after much work & eye developing I'm starting to see through photos the differences (even slight ones) in the side to side shape/angle of rear panels. Now to get REALLY good at the front to back shape....then I'll be set! Goal is to have that down before Fez gets a new saddle Thanks for explaining it to me though!
