Awe, thanks. I am sure I have mentioned this before, but I really like the picture of you and Buster! As for my homepage, everyone knows I love pink, lol. I haven't purchased a pink saddle pad for Keidas yet, but plan on it in the near future. Would you like to see pictures when I get it? xD I am trying to figure out when I can finally meet up with Lizzy, we are both dying to meet already! Lol.

Hey JackieB, just wanted to share my exciting news!
It's already working! I used what RL (rescue lady) taught me when I'm trying to brush Norman in the pasture and Booty is being a brush hog.. I had to do it two times, but after that, she left us alone and walked away! Success! Before I wouldn't follow through because I was afraid if I pushed her away she would turn and kick me, but RL showed me to just stay with her shoulder and keep pushing her and moving with her until she moves away.

Whoo hoo! I also successfully put on both fly masks and took them off without the use of a lead rope around their neck.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be decent so I'm going to try lunging while it's still fresh in my mind.

And RL emailed me today and said she'll definitely let me know when they start their extended training and I can be a part of it. And she said that I am welcome there anytime!

No worries. Tomorrow I am going to the rescue we fostered our two horses from. (Reggie & Snicka - who are back with them now). I'm volunteering for the day and hoping in exchange she can show me somethings to work on. Bonus is that I get to see my Reggie baby!

Yes, the birder you were with most likely left Michigan before I started birding. Unless it was Hal Cohen, I don't know him.

Hahaha I can picture that scene at WPBO; that serious birder probably didn't think it was so funny though. Glad you redeemed yourself later!

I've actually never been to Whitefish during landbird migration. Always waterfowl and raptor, so the Spruce Grouse (my specialty! I can find them really well...) are easier to find.

Shorebird migration is just starting to pick up here. Someone saw an American Avocet the other day, as well as 4 Brown Pelicans (GOOD bird for Michigan; but the second time they've been observed in my county this year!)

Hi JackieB...thanks for the website. I found a place online that I can rent the series from for $20. Do you think it might be worth it to try that first and if I like it, then buy it? Not sure my husband will go like me spending that much $$ on a set of DVDs right now.

I get the building blocks thing though. I do need to start at the beginning with her.

Before I forget, what is the name of that book that you recommend for learning to trim your own hooves? I can't find the thread you mentioned it in.

    THanks!

You've been to Whitefish Point? Neat!

I live in Michigan, so it's a pretty routine thing for me to go there once or twice a year.

Was the birder you were with from Michigan? LOL if so there's a good chance I know them.

I was camping this year in northern MI, and at this one spot the Ovenbirds were REALLY common. I heard so many Ovenbird variant songs my ears were ringing! LOL
