LOL, so far as I know he is still in the paddock - but now you have me worried!! There are heaps of horsie people in NZ - I think cos we are so agricultural?? I can't say I know many people by their names, or what they actually look like, but I know their horses which is weird

cool, you must be on now..thats sort of neat..its snowing now and about 20. We have about 4 inches of fluffy snow. Cold and crispy outside. Hope its warmer where you are. If you have kinfolk up here you should come up sometime and visit them. Where are they located??

    Hi alaska horse here..
You know, I used to ride a lot in the winter..especially when I was a kid, cold weather didn't bother me much and the horses always enjoyed getting out but now I am afraid I have turned into a total wimp...after 50 I am sad to admit,.. tht I only ride in the spring and summer anymore..by the time I get the feeding and chores done I am so glad to get back into a warm house and huddle up to my wood stove that I just can't bring myself to ride..I usually do start up around March when the days are getting longer and warmer. Then I will hop on one and go bareback. There is still to much snow to go anywhere so its usually just a loop around the place but I still enjoy it. At least until the next morning then my thigh muscles tell me about it. lol but thats normal I guess.. Can't wait till spring this year as I have an awesome going on two year old to start and I can't wait..

I live on a 150+ acre farm. We raise 300 replacement dairy heifers and 300 beef cattle. We rent another farm thats huge so we can fit all of the cattle. I like working in the winter better because it's the most hands on time. During the summer its more of a horse time and a hit and miss work time for us.

As for horses. I was forced to train horses with only 9 months under my belt. That was so stupid the dumb place. I lost 2 years of lessons because of that. I have been training well for 4 years of my life. My favorite time to ride is the fall and the spring. Its not to hat and not to cold. I absolutly love my horses and I love that we can keep them at home on our farm. We are building a wonderful barn and it is being started tommorrow. H

Don't try on a pair of intoxication goggles if you can't even walk straight to begin with. It just makes it 10x worse.
