    Hi Paula!
Haven't chatted in awhile. How did your sister's 17HH TB work out?

What's wrong? Big baby afraid of a little thunder?

You should see my cats if it gets really bad- one major crack of thunder, and it's a mad scramble of five cats heading either for closet, basement, or under the bed! Unless you're on the bed- then one or more come snuggling up.

Eeeeeeuuuuw! Seems like the weather has been nasty for everyone this year. If this is global warming, I don't want it!

There's almost an invisible line through our state- has been since last summer. About a hundred miles south of me and down, it's normal summer, and normal winter. Up here, it's been cooler than normal, windy and rainy. Both last year and this so far.

Sure makes it tough to go riding!

Hope your thunderstorms don't get too severe!

Can I have your weather? It's been nothing but cold, and nowit's raining- gah!
Haven't been able to ridemuch because of either rain, cold or wind, lol!

I haven't even been able to mow m lawn- either too cold or too wet, lol! Maybe by Wednesday!

Might even be able to get more pics!

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi- it's been a while!

Hard to believe, but Gypsy turned 30 this summer! And she still has more energy than I do, lol!

I'm trying to figure out where all the wind we've been getting has been coming from. Gypsy hates wind- either puts her head down and plods into it, or acts like a 3 year old- dancing and shying, the whole nine yards!

I'm hoping to get some good pics soon, now that I ahve a beter camera!

How have things been going for you?

Awesome Paula thank you! They did start popping up after a month or so in the tanning salon, so I quit going. I think they're evening out now, it's hard to tell because they are still white and I'm tan from riding but I think it's getting better. But now I have this huge white spot on my arm where the ring worm was, it's pretty unsightly. ARGH. I'm all out of whack. It was because of my BC also I think because it was screwing me up badly until I switched to nights and taking it at a regular time.

What are you doing at your new job? Enjoy your day off!
Get a hold of me sometime... do you still have my number? Hope everything is going well at home.

Dustin is doing great. He got out of school last Friday and will be starting the extended school year in 2 weeks.

"The first International Gold Cup was held in 1930 at Grasslands Downs in Tennessee over a 4¼ mile brush course, similar to the English Grand National course at Aintree. That year, the King of Spain, Alfonso XIII, then one of the world’s most gallant riders and sportmen, placed the spectacularly beautiful gold trophy in competition which is still awarded annually to the winner. After the Tennessee race meet ended end 1932, the event was moved to the Rolling Rock Hunt Meet course in Pennsylvania, a course built by General Richard King Mellon, who had won the 1931 race in Tennessee.

The annual Rolling Rock steeplechase races, which have benefited handicapped children for almost 50 years, have been abruptly ended.

The races, held with a few exceptions since 1934 on the Mellon family estate of Rolling Rock, at Ligonier, 60 miles east of Pittsburgh, have been more a social than a sporting event.

Over the years the sponsors, the Mellon Trust and the Rolling Rock Hunt Racing Association, have contributed more than...

For nearly half a century, it was a rite of fall. America's finest thoroughbred horses and jockeys, cheered on by thousands of people, gathered in a small, picturesque southwestern Pennsylvania field where they reveled in the finest in steeplechase racing.
It's been 20 years since the Rolling Rock Hunt Racing Association's last race meet in Ligonier Township. About the only remnant of the popular event is an old judging...

A rich history of international involvement characterizes the International Gold Cup Races, the highlight of the fall steeplechase season. The International Gold Cup itself, Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia, has had a long and interesting journey en route to its present home.
The first International Gold Cup was held in 1930 at Grasslands Downs in Tennessee over a 4¼ mile brush course, similar to the English Grand National course at Aintree. That year, the King of Spain, Alfonso XIII,...

The extraordinary beauty of its setting in the Loyalhanna Valley, some 50 miles east of Pittsburgh, makes the Rolling Rock hunt race meeting one of the most splendid of its kind. There the blue autumn mists hug the Pennsylvania mountains, and the foliage is barely beginning to turn. The outdoor spectacle is gilded by the richest purses of any hunt race meet. Naturally, the best steeplechasers and timber horses are drawn to the site, and present there now are such top contenders as Richard K. Mellon's...
