- You are so right. You don't make Morgans do anything. They will quickly remind you that they are very strong 1000 lb creatures with minds of their own.
Just in two or three days in one pasture she went from throwing fits about not getting to go to the paddock, to actually choosing to stay away from the paddock. Every time she would go down there I'd make her work. Then I'd take her away, let her rest, and then squeeze with my legs and let her go where ever she wanted.
I see if I can get Jillian to take pictures/videos of me tomorrow--I should have time. Maybe tonight, but I probably won't have time. I refuse to do it this afternoon, because it's HOT out.
- I haven't been working a lot of the "dressage", because it suddenly dawned on me how ridiculous it was that I could only work on her in the paddock. Everywhere else I couldn't even keep her mind on me because she was so busy wanting to get back to the paddock. So I've been working with her on that, and she's making huge improvements. While working on that I've been doing a bit of the on the bit/collection, whatever-it's-called.
And working on her brake pedal, which I think maybe the installation of which was forgotten.
I think probably it'll be not too much longer and I can ride her in any pasture and keep her mind on ME, not on getting back to the paddock. - Shweet, you like Clinton Anderson, too? He's awesome. All of his training things make sense, and they work. I've seen him twice--once at the Iowa Horse Fair and once at a Wahl Walkabout Tour. It was awesome. I think he needs to come to Indiana, and really close by in Indiana.

Again, haven't posted for a long time, but it's been SO long I've forgotten the things that aren't important, so Here we go!
I went to Karin's with Andre a couple weeks ago, and he was fabulous. Finally felt I was getting somewhere with him. BUT since I don't have side reins at home...it was all slipping away. So we ordered some, and today they came in the mail with my new full seat freak breeches, and I'm so stoked to try them!! The reins I mean. They truly are a miracle on him,...

Got back from St. Johns. It was okay. I feel so bad for saying "okay" because of all the trouble my mom went through, but it was certainly worth going in many ways--for the experience and certainly because of a small resturant called "Corky's" that has the best chicken nuggets and waffle fries EVER. Mmm...they were so yummy-delicious. Drool...I can taste them now...*Is sad*. It was fun hangning out with Bill...

ONWARD, to St. Johns HT! Super. We're gonna rock this thang...me n' mah gang...well at least I hope so. Feliche's been a lil tender footed after his last set of shoes and it's had me worried, but he's not in pain and we're doing our best. The ground's soft too and we're being SO careful.
Considering my friend's horse just got kicked, breaking his sesmoid and tearing the suspensory ligament...I feel okay.
Man...poor guy. Makes me so sad to hear that. ...

Well, I've had a rather full and productive day! =) I woke up at about 10am and decided to add Feliche to Allbreeds. It was SO much fun seeing the connections! Now he's officially on the site all the way back to the Godolphin. I found his pedigree so it was really easy--a lot of dams were missing though. It was fun filling those in too, especially because of the thought that maybe somebody else will find their horse's lineage because of the info I added =) The nice thing is that TBs are well tracked....
