Wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about you. Just haven't had time to sit down and get a note off to you. It sounds like you are into a super, super busy time too. You probably won't have time to read something even if I get it written!! LOL

    I'll talk to you soon,

    Pat

Just me again. How are you doing? Hope in some small way the hurt has lessened.

We're still trying to get some hay in the barn, one way or another. The weather here has turned hit and miss. We bought some hay already (not as good as I would have liked) and might have more coming today. That's if the fellow gets at it and bales it up. It's dry and ready to go. There's more rain forecast to be coming in tonight and tomorrow so if he doesn't get it today it more than likely won't be fit to buy.

Hope your day is going well. Talk to you soon. Pat

    Hi Davida,

Just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you. Hope in some small way that helps to know there's someone who understands the deep hurt of losing a best buddy, especially the way you just had to.

I'm hoping your young Dalmatian will come around for you. Unfortunately, those very special ones can be few and far between. I can never help but compare my horses now to Dusty. Sure wish I had that fellow back and could be rid of these problems I'm having with the two I have now. But, that's not going to happen so I have to learn to cope. I'm not a good "coper"! LOL

You have such a beautiful smile and I know it will return some day. Just give it time. You deserve the time to grieve right now. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

    Talk to you soon,

    Pat

Oh my. So, so sorry to hear about your dog. That has to have been an awful, awful experience. I just don't know what to say. Wish I was there to give you a big hug. Losing a special animal buddy is the worst thing to go through. I take the death of my furry/hairy critters even worse than I took the death of my parents. Guess I think of them as my "kids". The saying, time heals all wounds, may be true in some ways but the hurt of losing a pet can linger for a long, long time.

We had a very, very nice day here today. The humidity went bye bye and the sky was such a beautiful blue with a light breeze. We hauled down to the river valley and got in about four and a half hours of riding. I would have liked to have ridden more but my hubby "pooped" out on me. There were some friends of ours down there so we had a nice visit with them. We didn't get to ride together because they were out already when we got there and then we were still riding when they went out again.

We had some wind here a couple days ago when it tried to storm on us. Only .3 of an inch of rain but enough wind to blow a lot of branches and small sticks on the lawn for me to pick up. Most everything in my garden was leaning to the north. I had to prop the broccoli up again and a couple of the tomato plants were pretty beat up. Just when things start to look nice it seems mother nature has to beat them up a little! HA HA

Well, it's late and I should be getting to bed. Just stopped in to check and see if anything was new here on the forum and let you know I was thinking about you.

Again, I'm so sorry about your pup. Sure hope there wasn't much suffering involved.

Talk to you again soon when my eyes aren't crossing on me,

    Pat

Just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you. We are having a hot, humid spell here. I don't do well with hot and humid. LOL Still can't get any rain to speak of. Just a couple of tenth's here and there. I bet your garden is looking beautiful these days. I'm getting spinach, lettuce and onions yet. The asparagus is about done for the season. So much of what I seeded (even twice HA) didn't come. Oh well. There is always next year.

Hope your day is going well. Talk to you again soon. Pat

    Davida,

Nice foal pictures. And, YOU are a HOTTIE!! Finally get to see a picture of you. And, yes those colts are SO cute. My dream was always to raise a foal out of a good mare, but the only mare I bought through the years had good bloodlines but not such a good mind, so decided to not breed her. Now I'm too "ancient" to go that route. Don't have enough years left to see the whole process out and get the foal to maturity and riding well. I would want to do the breaking myself and I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get it done any more. Oh well, life is just too short for some of our dreams I guess.

We hauled to the river valley today and met some friends there. Got in about 4 1/2 hours of riding. Seems like they like to sit around camp a little more than ride these days. There was way too much moaning and groaning going on!! Oh to be young and spry again!! LOL

Thanks again for the peek into your world. Pat

    Hi Davida,

Eight hours difference huh? Well, good afternoon then. :-)

It has turned cold here but we finally received about an inch of rain this past weekend. My garden looks COLD. The tomato plants have turned black, not liking this weather one little bit. The wind blew hard here last night, so don't know what I'm going to find when I get out there this morning. I took the covers off the tomatoes a couple of days ago and put the cages around them. Should have put blankets back on. HA Then there's "something" eating my plants too. There have been a couple of deer hanging around here and it looks like they have taken a liking to my asparagus. Birds always like to nip at things too. Can't they find enough to eat somewhere else I ask? :-)

Hope your garden is doing better than mine. This cold weather is really out of character. I'm not resorting to turning the furnace on though. The insulated coveralls feel mighty good when doing outside chores though - maybe I should wear them in the house too!! LOL

We hauled the horses to the river valley last Wed. and Thurs. The weather was beautiful then. I rode Mickey on Wed and had a little "mishap". We were climbing a bank out of the creek and he fell. Went down on his belly and when he got up he went to bucking. I sure wasn't ready for that as I had gotten out of his way so he could do what he had to do to get up. Well, I flew off and luckily it was in a soft sandy area. I've been having some pain at the base of my neck and upper back, my right hand is bruised some on the little finger and there are some bruises on my legs. All in a day's "just" trail riding. LOL This isn't as easy as some may think!! LOL

I was going to show you some pictures, but I can't get them loaded on Photobucket. IE keeps shutting down on me telling me there is something "malicious" going on. Guess it's Monday, right. I'll try another time.

    Talk to you again soon,

    Pat

    Hey there,

I saw you were on so just thought I would pop over and say "Hi". Nothing new here. A cloudy, windy day with a possibility of rain moving in. We sure could use some. I went ahead and mowed the lawn yesterday hoping the weatherman knew what he was talking about, but we'll see. They've been known to be wrong before, right? LOL

I was going to get a horse out and go for a ride this evening, but I think the wind would try to blow me away. Hopefully it will die out some later on and I can get my little bronc out for a spin.

My washing machine bit the dust last night, so I'm shopping for a new one. No more Maytags for this gal. My first set lasted over 20 years and this washing machine is only about six years old and ready for the landfill. I hate buying appliances!! LOL

Hope your day is going well. What time is it over there anyway? Either you are up early or late I'm thinking. Get to bed!!! LOL

Most of my horses are rescues or came in bad health, under fed, and I love them all. They teach me something everyday and numerous times daily. The aged or sick ones that die break my heart everytime, and though I swear not to take a chance on one like that again, I can't help but fall for another injured or needy horse. Many of my horse are past the age of 20 and still going well, a few have sight issues, cataracts ex. and due what they can. They've taught many people to be kinder to horses and to animals in general and have done lots of special needs work with autistic and children with difficulties, and for that I am so greatful.
