Goats are herd animals. They need a 'herd' to be with, whether it's other goats, horses, or whatever. Without the 'herd' the don't feel secure and will call for others.

Some breeds of goats are noisier than others. Nubians have the reputation of being the loudest. However I have a couple here that I have no heard make a peep since they were little ones. And others didn't get loud until they were adults lol. The loudness of any goat depends on the goat. I think my La Mancha doe is the loudest out of any one goat here.

are goats normally really noisy? Me and Hubby both really like them but hes stuck on the few that we have seen/been around that were noisy. But they were alone, is that why??
