Once again thank you,I recieved a phone call from the vet that is taking my vets place while she is on vac. she said it was her idea to hcg and that she wasen't coming out to ultra sound because she should have ovulated ? I wish I could type in the cuss words as right now I am totally at her mercey, she still wants me to give the estrumate on fri, I expressed concern as weather or not she would have a fully formed CLat that time , her response was well if she didn't then she would be able to tell when she U.S. on the 8th and if she didn't then we give another dose of estrumate, plain stupid I think, where is the common sence is what I'm thinking. I don't care for this vet to much as I think she is to agressive with her methods, example would be when she tried to pull a foal for a friend and they ended up cutting the foal in pieces, and lost the mare too, I know things happen but I can't seem to get that out of my mind.I want to cry and I'm not a bawl baby.I am thinking that I might be better off to not even give and go with her regular cycle, they are saying the short cycle is better for predictability, I think that would P.O.them and also stallion might be intransit to the world show, if he is at the show they can collect him there, not sure if they have found a rider for him yet as his owner rider has a shoulder injury, but he is entered and ready to go.

Thank you for your info, time and link I appreciate it very much. when we ultra sounded tonite she had a 37 by 37, we figured that she would be ovulating sun or mon morn. to late to recieve semen, so we gave her hcg and will ultra sound on mon, then give estrimate on fri the 5th, so I guess the plan would be for the short cycle with her ovulating on the ? omg I really am starting to be annoyed, typing this just made me realize if we estrimate on the 5th she may ovulate as soon as the 8th and that won't work either, I am very frustrated and tierd, I was counting on my vet to take care of this, however we missed her last time and had a double ovulation, now the mare will ovulate with no semen, in a couple of days ,and I'm not so confident about this short cycle method, I do know that I waited and did alot of homework before I possitively made the choice to breed this mare 3 yrs in the making. Right this second I just feel DUMB DUMB DUMB.Thanx again and thank you for the link when I'm not totally exaughsted I will certainly be visting the sight and see if I can gain some Knowledge.

I am going to try this again as I feel you have the knowlege to help me. I will be follical following again starting today with a ultra sound. Iyo at what size should the follical be when I order semen ? In my situation if I call for semen they would collect and ship the following day, then it would be the following late afternoon that I get it.stallion is in texas Im in Idaho. Then do you A.I. 12 hours prior to ovulation ? and if you have a second dose would you dump it on the ground or use it 24 hrs later. And how do you handle cooled semen before A.I ? I know it depends on alot of variables but how long do you think cooled semen still holds substantial life after it is collected ? THANK YOU FOR ANY INFO YOU CAN PROVIDE.

Ok found it , it said just plain stupid, for two doses in 24 hours i don't care if she is ovulating that night, its just adding garbage. I will prob let my vet know, but will use different terms , so i got the message thank you for your time.

ok thanks I just thought maybe you might have a idea , vet still not back so I dont know follical size when she ai . The 2 doses in 24 hrs dont know what your refering to but I will see if I can locate it on your many post thanks again

kathy , hope you dont mind , but thumbing through some repo treads I thought you may either ease my mind or give me a dont get your hopes up answer.we had been keepin tabs on a follical we ordered semen when we ultra sounded next, the follical had regressed, we gave hcg at 730 am on the 7th ai at 100am on the 8th and 230pm on the 8th. she really didnt show much intrest in a tease on the 7th anyway apon bringing her home after the ai ,onthe 10th she acts very in heat 2 days after the ai ? this was by my vet . it seems that other follicals had taken over but my vet is out of phone range intill tonite so im not sure of follical size on the first ai she said that she ovulated between the two ai so somewhere between 100am and 230pm so what do you think about the big heat show 2 days after the ai ? we plan on ultra sound on the 20th but this seems wierd to me the big show 2 days after the ai, is it possible we missed her ? or her hormones are making her act that way and maybe she did take? idk
