    Sorry I missed your call and haven't been able to call you back yet. Robby's Grandpa died Friday so we've been w/ the family most of the weekend. We are getting ready to go to the funeral in about an hour. Keep him and his family in your prayers. This is his first grandparent to lose.

    Lessons are going better. Not letting my bad lessons get to me like that last one. Had another lesson today, went well. My trainer wishes I could stay longer and train with her. I guess she likes the improvements I keep making in the time I have been riding with her. She's keen to see what I end up doing as I progress.

    I took my 1st lesson about 15 yrs ago & worked for lessons through HS but took a few years off during college. My passion for horses never faded & one day I stopped by my old barn for a visit. I had hoped to get involved again, but I could never have imagined to what extent that would be. 8 yrs later, I am working for one of the most respected trainers in the Region. In '07, I left my job to focus on my dream of training professionally. Today, I study Classical Dressage & have found a deep passion for it. I believe Dressage truly is the medium that brings us closest to our equine partners. I continue to show both H/J and Dressage, but my dream is to someday achieve GP level on a horse I breed and train myself.

ANY horse can perform basic dressage movements, but to excell competitively, it really takes a horse with a conformation suited to the sport... here is some more info that may be helpfull;

What is your first name? Kimberly

Are you married/single/a child (tell us about you a little)? Engaged to a wonderful man named Jim. We are getting married in Sept.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? Hopefully, Jim and I will have 2 healthy children at that time (and I pray by then they are in kindergarten at least!! LOL) I also hope to be competing at 4th Level or above at USDF rated shows. I hope to have a sucessful warmblood production business (buying weanlings,...

I'm posting this publically because I think this could help other people facing depression or help people who love someone with depression understand a bit better. I had posted a verison of the below post on someones thread.... and decided I would keep the post in case someone else could use it to.

This sounds a lot like a Depression-induced panic attack. I know, I used to trash my life regularly when I had them.

I owe my first (WRONG) marriage,...

Something I see a lot in riders is see-sawing...

See-sawing the horse down does not create a truely through horse - instead you will get a temporary false headset and as soon as the seesawing stops, the horse will hollow out and come up again anyway.

True roundess is acheived through Steady contact - with correctly applied half halts - which incorporate the entire body, not just the reins.

The biggest misconception people have about a "round"...

I strongly believe, no matter how good a coach is, you should not spend more then a few years with one trainer. No one person can teach you everything and everyone will teach you something - even if its what NOT to do.

It sounds like you've just outgrown each other - it doesn't mean she hasn't taught you a lot or isn't good at her job -so don't feel guilty about moving on - its all part of the natural progression of riding.

I have 2-3 students who I plan to move to...
