Been busy at the horse shows. We got 1st Saturday, 2nd Sunday and won the class for the year end award. So, I've just been really busy getting ready for the shows.

How's the horse going in his training?

Well any age horse can barrel race if they are in condition and are up for it. Yes you want to start from ground work and work your way up. get trust with the horse first. I usually go off of Clinton Anderson. Then when you work up to the riding, sit up there and have him streach out his neck, just his neck, not his hindquarters. Do both sides, get him well streched out. Then do make him strech out his neck and turn his hindquarters in SMALL SMALL circles, kind of just pivioting. This will help on his flexing, control, and also its a great warm up techn. i use. as for the four year old being a better canditie, im not sure, ive never seen your 17 year old or 4 year old. Which one has more intrests in the barrels?

I work with a 4 year old APHA bay roan gelding, Peppy, who belongs to my boyfriend's parents but hopefully I can buy him someday!
