Yesterday My Mom rode Frank, my friend rode her daughters little Arab mare, and I rode Jess on a trail ride.. well road ride I guess.
Our barn is on a dead end road, and we always ride down to the end and back to cool our horses out.. its quite long. Well Frank has been down there MANY times, but Jess has only been down there 3 times- and shes never been across the other way.. you have to cross a fairly busy road on a very odd angle. Frank has been down there many, many times.. Jess never....

I was so proud of Jess today!
She has this hair on her lower face/under her chin etc.. it is THICK, and long- and makes her look like a scruffy old billy goat!
Well today I decided it NEEDED to come off!! I was going to do the best job I could with scissors.. but then my friend suggested the clippers.. I forgot I actually had them at the barn.. but then was hesitant- I know she will have to learn one time or another that clippers wont eat her.. so I decided to finally pull them out and...

I havent entered anything here.. so heres a little backround info on her first..
Jess was bred by a friend of ours.. he didnt own the mare. He wanted to buy her as a weanling, but didnt.
He kept track of her, and as a yearling was in rough shape had a huge gut- said she looked very pregnant (worm gut) and was quite skinny..
I guess she was with those owners for awhile, then was sold.
She eventually ended up about an hour away, and was in a grass field all summer, and in...
