Thought I would give you some updated pics from last weekends trail ride. It was Jacobs first and Turtle was great. They had a lot of fun but even though it was only an hour and at a walk on flat ground it was a bit much for Turtle. He is great around the property but probably won't take him out much anymore for his own sake. Poor guy looked 10 yrs older by the end of the ride. He is doing great though and is his lively, curious and loving self.

Hey, I just wanted to share a beautiful song with you, because I know right now might be rough. You probably don't understand Indonesian, but I feel like it transcends language. I cried the first time I heard it.

Jangan Menyerah means "Never Give Up"

Updates on Turtle: He is awesome...**** on wheels, lol. This horse has the personality of a yearling!! He plays and talks all day. Love, love, love this horse!! Look at his butt and this shine. I took this at 1am tonight, was up late with a neighbors colicking horse and came home to let Turtle and Moon in for some green grass and to take pics...no brushing and lots of mud on hit butt:

Look at these dapples and can you believe he only gets a cup of grain a day?!?

I have been meaning to log on and give you updates on Turtle but have been so busy I haven't had time. Tina said you had asked and wanted pictures so I am glad she got them posted for you. He is getting some winter fuzz already. He dropped a few pounds again this last couple weeks but I think my younger horse chases him around a little so it might be stress. I try to keep Joker in a different pasture or in his pen but sometimes I don't have a choice. He doesn't hurt him, just lets him know he is boss and get out of his way. I have upped his mash again and started giving him some hay just for a little extra, really don't want him dropping weight before winter. The hip is better but I think it is a calcium deposit and will probably go down but never away. It doesn't seem to bother him at all but being used more I put him on a little Free & Easy and some MSM to keep him comfortable. I have some pictures of Jacob riding him last week that I will post too. Hope things are well your way.

your welcome..I didn't think you were being rude, more like pointing out facts and such. Talk to a mod about the neg rep and let them decide. Sometimes it's hard for ppl to see what is what especially when emotions are in play.

Good glad you like how he looks. He is very happy and loves his grass. His fly mask is made by Cashel and they are really super nice. He does have the swelling, but from what I can tell it doesn't seem to bother him. Jenny would know better than me though, give her an email she doesn't get on HGS much anymore she is super busy with lessons and stuff.

I have loved horses all my life, but did not get my first one until I was 26 years old. I still have him and I turned 49 in January. I have no chosen discipline and just prefer good ole trail riding with friends, camping with the horses, working cows, poker runs, and an occasional team penning.

If there is one thing I have learned since becoming a horse owner, it is that the more you know about them, the more you realize there is so much more to learn and I enjoy the process very much.

My animals fill my life. I have divorced twice and finally figured out I am just not good at it. Or rather, I am not good at picking out husbands.

That is not to say I do not have friends. I have lots, but I can count on one hand, how many I
