WOW. That would seem like a million miles away if someone was 300 miles away from me. Have a great night.

Awesome. I have always wondered what it was like in Alaska. I have family that lives up there but I don't know them very well.

Thank you..right now we own 12. Most of them we have raised from birth. Our family was one of the first cattle ranches here on the Kenai in the early 50's. We also ran a guide and outfitters business with our horses and at that time we usually kept anywhere from 25 to 30 head of horses.. We retired from thta in 1998. A few of the horses that we have, are remenants of the orginal generations. We now buy, sell, retrain and raise horses, as well as host clinics and playdays. We love our critters and they are like family..

Fun huh..At least when the weather was good and the air is cold and calm. I used to love flying with my husband on those cold clear mornings when the air was thick. It seemed as if the cub would lift off like a helicopter. We did game counts for the Fish and Game sometimes and it was so much fun. I really miss flying ( not as much as my husband to LOL) I swear..He complains that his feet are flattening out from lack of flying..but we just couldnt afford to keep the cub when it wasn't working and paying its way. Have never flown outside of this area except commercially go somewhere. I really don't like the big jets. I always feel like "lets see I am 7 miles up in the sky flying at over 300 miles an hour. If this thing coughs I ain't walking away from this one. Where as the cub, at top speed only flew about 90 mph and had a stall speed at about 35. I always figured we could walk out of most places we would have to set down. LOL"
Husband had a few near misses and a few oops's, but God was good and kept him alive. Lots of good memories..

Have been owning, rising and training horses in Alaska since I was 10. Married for 37 years now. Live on our ranch with family, two grown kids with their families, we put up our own hay, and manage to board a few horses, and have a reg Qh stallion that we use for breeding to outside mares. I have one mare we bred (AI'ed) to Cheri Cervie's stallion Frenchman's Hayday aka Dinaro and got a beatiful stud colt this spring.
I love to meet folks talk horses, and am constantly learning, it amazes me that the older I get the more there is to learn.
