Hope all goes well at the vet. I'll be interested to hear how it goes.
Lizzie has been getting bursa injections.

Have you had Wish x-rayed yet?

I know what you mean about expensive shoeing. Lizzie is wearing an egg bar wedge. That along w/ being injected seems to be working but its not cheap.

Sending prayers your way and keeping my fingers, arms, legs, and toes crossed. You shouldn't blame yourself. I know thats easier said than done. You were only doing what you thought was best and sometimes these things happen. We are all human and make mistakes (including the vet) and all we can do is try our best and hope it works out the way we want. You're love for you animals is very obvious and they are lucky to have such a caring and knowledgable person as yourself.
Keep me updated on the results on the x-rays and what the ferrier says.
BTW, have you had any luck w/ the Isoxsuprine? I gave a round of it to my horse, Lizzie, to help treat her for navicular syndrome. Couldn't tell that it did any good. Just wondering what kind of experience you've had with it.

I can't believe she is 8 now. Where does the time go? I'm so sorry about her pony. Does the vet realize that it was the Dex he prescribed that did this? How long before you know how extensive the damage is? Thats a tough break.

Haha... thankyou so much. Yes, he is in law school but I tell him he is too honest to make a good lawyer. He is extremely intellegent. His lowest grade so far has been a B+ and he recieved a scholarship for them. He also found out that he is in the top 10% of his class. He is a very hard worker. He can also build/repair a heck of a fence.
My whole family just adores him as I do his. I really hit the jackpot w/ this one.

Haha... I think I hit the jackpot but then again I'm bias. I will be moving about 4 hours away but its just until he gets out of law school. I have an uncle thats a dentist where we're moving and Robby's grandparents and two of his aunts and uncles only live about an hour away.
I think the main problem w/ the dentist I work for is that he's 62, seems ready to retire, and just doesn't seem to care anymore. I'm trying to keep my chin up though.
How is your whole crew? Family, horses, etc...

Thank you April, that means a lot coming from you.
I know what you mean about running around. Planning this wedding has me running all over the place. Yes, he likes the horses but he is still learning. He grew up around cattle but not horses. He is very supportive though and to me that is the most important thing.
As for my job, I love what I'm doing just not where I'm doing it. The dentist I work for is more worried about production than patient care and that doesn't sit well with me. I really would love to call OSHA on him but I know he's had it done several times before and nothing has come from it. I'm not kidding, I've seen him get up from one patient and go to another without even changing his gloves or work on a patient without gloves and not wash his hands first. I kind of taught him a lesson with that though. When I get married I will be moving so I'm just keeping to myself, doing my job correctly, and waiting to leave. I'm just trying to look at it as a good learning experience so next time I'll know things to make sure and check on before accepting my next job.
BTW, saw your video in the contest section... laughed my rear off. Haha!

Yikes! I'm seeing a side of you that I haven't seen before. And I miss talking to you since you got promoted to mod. I guess when you are in management you don't have time for us little people. J/K JR

I decided to make updates every week or so, since there isn't a whole lot to talk about....lol.
Jack has been a little post/stiff when pivoting on the front right hoof. I also notice that he tends to "point" this foot more in the pasture. Have been taking it easy with him. Just working on a few sets of backing each day and stretches. He is due to be reshod on Wednesday.

Have been watching some DVD's from a farrier/hoofcare conference. There was a very interesting...

No work yesterday.... after the fireworks extravaganza the neighbors put on.... Jack was sore and slightly limping on the right front.

Better today.
Small hill work, carrot stretches, backing up, and walk in hand over ground poles. Still not 100% but much better than yesterday.

He is such a goo.ber! LOL! He loves doing carrot stretches because he knows he will eventually get a treat. Now when I am not working him..... and he is just out in the pasture,...

No work today! Because I am a slacker and had to clean house for my New Year's Party company. Back to the grind tomorrow.
