Measuring for blanket

How do you measure for a blanket? Obviously I want to get the correct size so as not to give my horse blanket rubs, etc...

is it from tail to middle of chest? or what? Thanks...

I would check with the manufacturer of the blanket you are looking at. I measured my horse mid chest to mid tail and it was too big, to measure for their blanket was mid chest to the edge of her cheek (not around to her tail). The one I got was to big and had to reorder. Course I couldn't find the packing slip, so I bought the second one and couldn't return the first one!! Lesson learned!!
