Today was Annies and my first show! It was only a fun show, but, it was a good expeiriance for us,both! I did showmanship with her, and Western Pleasure walk/trot.
Showmanship- haha..we did very bad...lol.There was 16 people!We had to trot to a cone,(she didnt want to trot for some reason,lol) then back up half way or 1/2 the half way,lol,then a 450 pivot, and walk up to the judge and get judged. What we did right in that class-Walk to the judge, and stand in line!lol.
Showmanship was the first class, so, I had a LONG time until Western Pleasure. I was warming her up and stuff in the practice ring for a while, getting her used to everything. She was GREAT! She was actually doing a nice slow trot, and kept going. It was VERY hot out, and then, it starts to POUR out!! They stopped the class while it was raining and everyone brought their horses into the barn. Luckily it only lasted maybe 5minutes.
After another hour or so, it was my time to go in.
Western Walk/Trot- 5 people (lol) Annie was very good in it, she kept a nice slow trot the whole time we had to trot, and I barely had to cue her to slow to a walk. We messed up though Wasnt our fault, but, a horse infront of me, the rider for some reason swung the horses back end out so it was in the way, and that broke Annies stride. We had to back,also. She did pretty good at that. I think I got docked some points because I am supposed to ride 1 handed since shes over a certain age, but i didnt. :P (shes just now learning how to)
Out of 5 people, I got 4th place!! I wasn't doing this show for the ribbons or anything, it was more of a learning experiance. Annie did very good for her first show,I think, and I think I did pretty good myself!
There was ribbons for places 1-6, so I got 1 ribbon,lol.
My mom did get some pics, so, I'll upload those tomorrow, all I want to do atm is Sleep,lol.
I just realized how long this post is,sorry,if you made it through the whole thing, good job,lol.
