Maybe more horses needing homes in PA.

i was talking to my farrier and she was the one that turned the "washington, PA" barn in with those dead horsess =[ they actually contacted the human society a year a half ago about their horses being neglected and they did nothing , now look.

Well she was telling me that she is turning in another barn from Bridgeville PA. she is having a personal conversation with the owner and if the owner doesnt act on it, there are going to be around 20 horses looking for new homes

If i hear anything else i will let you guys know ASAP!!

What is WITH PA? I've seen so many threads here and heard SO MUCH about neglect there. I mean, there can't be any more there than there is anywhere else. I think people just act on it more there.

I've turned people in where I live for dogs. But they don't do anything about it. Because outside city limits they only laws are that they have to have SOME KIND of shelter. PISSSSSSSSSSSSSES me off!

awww thats sad..i am happy because PA doesnt have kill shelters, i know a lady who goes to ohio and gets dogs from the kill shelter than she nourishes them up and socializes them..and gives them away.

There's a lot of foundations like that around here that do that, Our shelter is a kill shelter because it can't afford to expand and house the extra animals. So we have people who pay to adopt them and "foster" them until they can kind a permanent home.

Its not just PA. I know a guy around the corner from me, the humane agents were working with him last year, the horses are still not getting enough to eat. The draft is about 300 lbs under weight.
I don't think they have anywhere to put the horses so its easier to "work" with the owners to correct the problem
Realistically speaking, who has the money to foster a horse that the courts will probably give back anyhow!

Washington and Bridgeville are both right down the road. I'll be watching this thread for updates. I'll take one!
