Exclamation Mars stallion prospect Update

We got another call from the coach at UMass Amherst (Jerry Shurink).

He is still very interested in Mars and has asked us if we can bring Mars to the campus for a whole day in two weeks. He wants everyone to see, meet and look him over to form their own opinions on him and see if they think he has potential.

I can't wait for them to see his trot.

I honestly don't think he's in an awkward stage, he never really went through one.

I don't know how to get ready for it though.

The farrier is coming tomorrow morning so his feet will be in good condition. I should probably trim his mane and give him a bath a few times LOL

He's good in new places so I'm confident he'll behave very well for a yearling.

I just hope I've done good by him that they don't think his manners are horrible. I believe he's a well mannered boy.

I'm on the fence about it all now though. I love him so much. I don't think I could sell him now. I don't want him to leave my house. But at the same time if he has the potential I want to get him there-even though he could care less if he's a top notch stallion. But it would be nice to know I own something of that caliber.

We'll see how it goes...He is officially one year old as of this past Monday and over 14hh.

Money became a bit of an issue for the school, pretty much since the Testing is a LOT and the school wouldn't be owning him, they didn't really wanna dish out that kinda money for something they don't fully own.

But we decided we'd do a trial type thing-let Mars go to the school and probably a few shows and a 3 year old Inspection before the 100 Day Test and see how he fairs.

There's more to it I believe. I haven't seen any of the e-mails or heard the phone conversations.

But he's still intact...doesn't realize it though LOL

My mom is taking us to the barn now so I can work with him and start getting him looking presentable LOL I'll take pictures! And try to find a stick to measure him
