Thank you! I loved him from afar for 6 years, dreaming of the day I would have a piece of him in one of his babies someday. I never in my wildest dreams thought HE would ever be mine! Sometimes I still don't believe it's true except when I actually am in his presence. Even after almost six months it still feels like a dream!

How did you wind up with Marquis? I used to know his old owner from the Dreamhorse forums. Does she have a functioning website now?

I met Linda 6 years ago on DH. I saw one of the pictures she posted of Marquis on there and we started talking. We have been friends ever since. It wasn't long after that that I decided someday I WOULD have an Arab and when I did it would be a Marquis baby. In 2003 I started making payments on a daughter of his but had to back out when I was injured at work. In 2006 I decided to try again and Linda and I got together with another friend of ours with a VERY nice mare and arranged the breeding that produced China. I was tickled pink with China, she is a carbon copy of her daddy (except grey) and I was SO looking forward to getting her home. About a month before she was due to be weaned and come home to KY from Texas, Linda told me she was retiring from breeding and offered me Marquis rather than geld him. It took me all of an hour or so to come up with the idea to use China as a downpayment on him. Worked for Linda, she knew he would have a good home with me and she sold China within an hour of us making the deal. I got him home in December and he is everything I ever dreamed he would be and more.

Yes ma'am I do... Bred her in '05 and have a pretty little two year old filly now!

awww that's great. I remember when you were considering selling her (at least I think I do..) in any case.. I'm glad you didn't. She's a very pretty mare. do you have pix of her baby posted on here?
