I just use the cheapy stuff Bronco. It works just fine for me, so I have never actually had the need to try other more expensive brands..

Carrier Oil Profiles

Okay, dumb question here: would this be something that's probably best NOT to use on a white horse (who needs to stay as white as possible)??

As it is, the spray we're using now (Flysect with citronella) is oily and attracts every bit of dust and dirt that it can... and we can only bathe very rarely - yellowing would be bad.

Good question and I don't know but you could replace the oil with Witch Hazel and just make sure to shake the solution well before you use it each time......

Note: not sure about these oils with USEF so better safe then sorry
...if you compete - check with them first...

i love that spray. .. well not to keep slys off but for freshening up the barn its lovely!! lol .. to bad its soo expensive.

i like repel-x the best. it seems to work well. although nothing really ever works that great. its the best ive used so far. i buy the concentrate. its expensive, but you get soooo much use out of it. one bottle of concentrate makes ALOT of flyspray. it says u arent supose to make it and not use it all at once, but i do, and it still works. i mix it up and leave it in the spray bottle till its all gone and i make some more.

they also have great wipes you can use. i have them for my pony who is terrified of spray bottles.

what is this stuff made out of? Is it considered organic or pestacide free? Thanks!

I just heard that it is more effective to use something different than what everyone else uses in a stable/ community situation....anyone else heard of this?

I can't find a list of the ingredients on the web and my bottle is in my tack locker at the barn. I do know it is pesticide free, all natural oils (including citronella), but it's not USDA organic.

I second your opinion/experience haunani! I love the smell of Marigold but at best it lasts 5 hours on an average day. Deo-Lotion is something I just tried for the first time as of last month. A+ for being natural, plus it's a concentrate so you can play with the strength, smells awesome as ever, and got compliments from the barn manager at our barn. I probably will use Deo-Lotion as an in between with Ultrashield by Absorbine. I'm lazy sometimes and hate to mix! I need to buy a bigger flyspray bottle or maybe a garden sprayer haha!
