I am going to use the uterine marble, you can do a search for posts about it on this forum. There is drugs available also that you can get from your vet.

Although the mare might be interested in the donkey, the donkey jack might not be interested in the mare. Donkeys are generally particular in who they have encounters with. If a donkey jack has not been raised around horses and has not normally been used to breeding mares, He may totally ignore mares in full blown heat. However if the jack grew up with horses and was used to breeding them then yes you might have a problem. As for controling her heat there are muoltiple ways to do it and have all been discussed here on the forum before.
do a quick search for topcis such as regumate, uterine marbles etc.

Have you talked to a vet about it? There are several courses of action you could take but the right one without a vets input would be hard to suggest. I understand it can be frustrating but it sounds normal mare in heat behavior to me... I hope you have good fence... A hot wire would help.

Agreed there are options for mares with bad heats, talk to your vet. The marble is the first to come to mind.

There used to be a jack up the road who would escape and crawl under our fence to get to Pumpkin Pony (who liked it!) We had to have the vet out twice to give her a shot to slip the baby, every little girl wants a pony but who wants a pony mule? Especially a half POA one LOL. I was very glad when the donkey moved out.

Actually in my neighborhood that is a high dollar item. That is why I had not trouble selling a dun mare with riding issues to a jack owner. He wants those stripped mules. Stripped and or spotted are high dollar.
