| Senior Member | Mare "shakes" when in heat....??!
mmmmmmmm, my mare is in heat bigtime...and is visibly shaking in her rear end/flank area. Is this wierd or what? Has anyone else ever seen this before? I have always had geldings (other than pony mares), and I have never seen this.

This could be normal for this mare. Producing a follicle can be painful. As with humans, there can be mild pinching to painful cramping. Your mare may be one that becomes very painful during ovulation. Her reponse would be shaking, probably some sweating, perhaps even looking colicy. As advized above, it would be wise to consult your vet just in case. |
