Ok..we bought this mare like 4 days ago..she is really skinny and we are trying to bring her back up to weight...according to the guy who sold her to us, she would be due anyday this week. I have pictures of her taken yesterday and some taken today of her vulva...maybe you experienced out there can tell me if you think she is due anytime soon and about when....I have compared yesterdays vulva to todays and it seems to me a good difference, because todays, the vulva wasn't near as wrinkled as yesterday. the first pic is yesterday and the second and third are today..there is a difference in the ones today..middle seems more wrinkly than last one, but I t hink both are looser than yesterdays...tell me if i am wrong...but if you compare the first and the last..there is a difference....not so much with the first and second though (even thoguh the 2nd and 3rd are on the same day)

Poor girl! She's so skinny Bless your heart for taking her in. How old is she? Her pasterns are really sunken. Do you know anything about her history or who she is bred to?

i was told she was bred to another purebred fox trotter...but I can't take their word for granted...it turns out from another source, that this person is a junkie and you can't believe what he says....but either way we have her now. What are her pasterns...is that her legs? I am so new at all this stuff...I have loved horses my entire life but never really studied them much.

LOL, you picked a tough way to get into horses! Not trying to scare you at all, but this little girl is going to take a lot of time and effort to get back into shape, and her baby is going to take even MORE time and effort to train! Her pasterns are like her ankles. You see in the side shot of her how they are really slanted going to her hoof?

Is she leaking milk or streaming milk coming from her teats? That's a good 24 hrs. till delivery usually. And on top of tail and pelvic will soften to allow baby to pass through. Good luck she's lucky to have you.
