Me and my horse are going to a show next month and I was wondering if someone could give me a list of the acceptable styles for his mane. Thanks

You can plait (braid) his mane, which always looks nice, and shows off his neck, there is also the running braid which is much less time consuming and shows off his neck fairly well, (not as much as the plaits). also, as long as he has a nice mane and it is not scragly, you can leave it down, esp if your horse has a very long mane and you do not want to pull it. I would suggest that if you are going to a smaller show, local or schooling that you do any of the above. Yet if you are going to a larger show, that is rated, you may want to braid his mane in some way becuase it looks neater. If I saw a pic of your horse's mane i could advise you better on what to do with it, but those styles can work for any type of mane.

I'll see if I have a pic of his mane..it's in a hunter cut right now, and I think the running braid might look funny since he has a bridlepath..I may braid it

If it is a smaller schooling show you can experiment by making a "lattice" with his mane. you band his mane, then take 1.2 of one band and 1/2 of the next band and band those together all the way down, then do the same thing for the next row, it ends up looking like a lattice, or a net. Its really cool. for schooling shows there is no acceptable style usually, so you can experiment with braids

how long is ur bridal path, is it that shorter chunk of hair like 5 inches long? becuase if it is, i suggest you dont cut it, and limit your bridal path to about 1 inch, at most an inch and a half. English riders like smaller paths than western. With the length of his mane i would either plait it, or leave it down. Its not long to make a lattice or the running braid

It's a C-Rated show though - thought I'd add that in... and thank you for the "adorable" compliment..i feel like a proud new mommy lol And btw, for bridlepath's what we do is bend their ears back and don't trim it past there..so that's where his is and also, idk if this makes a difference but his mane is REALLY thick, we have to shave the under side of it so it lays down.
