Mane flaking off?

if its tender, it leaves me to believe its not just dandruff.............hmmnn........and its not an old cut or graze thats scabbed over?????? im sorry..............dont think i can help you......do you have any pictures???

My dads mare had the same thing but in about half of her mane and he used scope or listerine i cant remember and it went away i was so suprised i was like what are you doing. I wish you luck with it.

Yeah, I don't think it's dandruff either. Dandruff doesn't hurt.

Nope. It's not scabbing, and there's no sign of injury at all. Nada.

For some reason sunburn popped into my head. [Okay, so I'm peeling and pulling off the skin. But it hurts!]

But it'd be an odd place to get a sunburn.
