| Senior Member | can you maybe seperate that one from the other? Ive never heard of horses chewing on each others manes, i have seen horses chew off the tails of other horeses though. Other than seperating them im not really sure what you could do...

| Senior Member+ | You need to make it unpleasant for him to do it. Try McNasty Anti-Chewing Spray (Horse - Stable Equipment & Supplies - Cribbing) or your local feed store may have something like bitter apple. There's a chance your horse might be looking for minerals he isn't getting in his feed. What is your feeding/mineral supplement program like?

| Senior Member | hmmm and if u put like a slinky on he pulls it off? Maybe try putting a little extra hay out there to keep him busy eating, and off your poor horses mane...

| Senior Member | to me it sounds as though he is very board, and need somehting else to do with his time, but hey look at it this way, if he is shredding the slinky, hes not eating your horses mane...now u just need a new slinky...
