Angry Mane Chewer!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dads horse keeps chewing on my horses mane!!!!! Last time he left a spot about 3 inches long!!!! how do i get him to stop? If i put a hood on her he ripes it off! HELP!!!!!!!

can you maybe seperate that one from the other? Ive never heard of horses chewing on each others manes, i have seen horses chew off the tails of other horeses though. Other than seperating them im not really sure what you could do...

You need to make it unpleasant for him to do it. Try McNasty Anti-Chewing Spray (Horse - Stable Equipment & Supplies - Cribbing) or your local feed store may have something like bitter apple.

There's a chance your horse might be looking for minerals he isn't getting in his feed. What is your feeding/mineral supplement program like?

hmmm and if u put like a slinky on he pulls it off? Maybe try putting a little extra hay out there to keep him busy eating, and off your poor horses mane...
