    making a indian hackamore/bosal...?

Are there instructions anywhere for making one myself?

I make rope halters and I can't imagine that making just the noseband bit is very hard but I don't want to do it wrong.

I just want to try it out on my girl because even though she goes fine in normal snaffle she seems more supple in a halter but I don't feel comfortable enough with her to just ride in a halter all the time (she has major 'I don't get it so I'm NOT gonna" moments complete with rearing >.< ).

I'm going to buy one if I can't find instructions, I just don't want to since i already have all the materials (from making halters), yknow?

I think this is a good enough picture that you could make one from just looking at it. Hope it helps, anyway!

That's interesting, I never really thought about doing it with leather. Do you have any photos?

No I dont have any pictures. It was made from a pair of old latigo split reins and I have since dismantled it to use for other parts since I wasnt using it. All I have left is the strap with the two rings on it. It wasnt as nice as the one in the picture, I made it on a whim and only used it two or three times.

Maybe one day when I get bored I can dig around in my leather tub and see if I make another one. I might have enough latigo strap left to make a miniature one.
