Making a fake tail

Does anyone know how to make a fake tail or know of any acticles, books, websites that show how? Also, if you use a fake tail which type of attachment do you think looks the most natural?

I don't use fake tails personally because they are illegal in the types of breeds i show but from what i have heard...i just have heard that for hunters & jumpers the wrap type looks the most natural.
Sorry i couldn't be of more help!
good luck learning how to make a tail....sounds like a hard job!

Can't tell you how to make them but as far as attachments I like the single loop top or the double tie top --- if you start making extensions let me know!!

Fake tails are made from the tails of deceased horses.

It would be hard to make one yourself...unless you somehow have a tail sized bunch of hair that just needs a way to be attached.

It's very easy to find tail hair sold by the lb. for extensions.

I make my own and sell a few on the side (so sorry, not going to divulge my secrets lol) and make all mine with the 2 tie tops, as they are very easy to put in.

Well, I have the hair, unfortunately. I cut the tail off the mare I lost recently before I buried her thinking I'd make some tassels for her colt to wear one day but when I finally made myself open the bag today I realized that there's more than enough there for a full extension so I guess that's what I'll try to do.

I've never even put in an extension so I'm completely clueless as to which way to go with this. I just know that some extensions are soooo obvious and others are hard to detect. Not sure if it's the attachement type or if it's just the skill of the person putting it in.

Or if you have broodmares who dont need their full tails and they happen to match the tail of your horse.....*pulls out scizzors and starts looking at the broodmares*
