Making a fake tail??

Someone has offered generously to donate me their horse's tail hair when he retires. He is in no danger of being tailess. Hes an Arabian, super thick tail and the tail has about 36" of hair ON THE GROUND. Anywho, thats not the point.

The point is, does anyone know how I could make it into an extension. I was thinking some super industrial glue and get a cap to glue on top. Im not sure if I should bang it or keep it natural. Im also not sure if I want to pay $75 + to have someone else put it together.....

I have a "slide on" style- it looks like the hair is glued/ electrical taped at the top around a small metal tube that the small real braid goes thru. Doesn't look that hard to make.

Craft time!

I would take a long strip of fabric and lay it out. Add glue to the bottom half, arrange the hair evenly across it, and wait for the glue to dry. Each hair should get glue on it. Then once its dry, fold the top half over the glued hairs and run a sewing machine over it to hold it all togeather. Then I would figure out a way to un attach the head of a broom that has one of those eyes on the top to hold a string or something. I would shove the entire roled up thing in there.

Thats just how i'd do it

My show tail is 3 pieces, and you braid it in along the tail bone. It has electrical tape, and possibly some glue. But the most important component is -On each they have two braids of hair with a glob of glue at the end to hold them together. These get braided in with the natural tail, and hold it into place.
