Thumbs down Makes Me Sick.

Today I went to one of the biggest shows of the year - It is called the Polo Field. - I saw someone on their horse SMOKING.
That just disgusts me.

I know a lot of people who smoke on top of their horses. I don't necessarily see what the problem is unless the smoke is wafting over and bothering someone?

I no longer allow people to smoke on the trail rides when they go with me, but that is merely because the brush is so dry I don't want to be responsible for a fire.

Hmm....I've never seen that before.

Disgusting, but no more than just smoking in general is.

I've seen lots of people smoke while riding but I wouldn't encourage it on a trail ride becaue of the dry brush and leaves as Jess said

I don't see the big deal with it. That way no smoke is drifting into the horses face, also it would be wafting OVER the people standing on the grounds head.

ETA but I agree on trails it is a bad idea.

it is unprofessional but not illegal. i am taken by the occasional cigarette but am not on my horse at the time. not in public anyway ; )

i will not judge anyone with an addiction (the behaviour that sometimes comes with it, however, is a different story). the iron grip of an addiction can be an ugly thing but that does not mean the person afflicted is bad, just addicted. not our place to judge. that person can smoke as freely as you can walk away.

I smoke on the back of my horse

I don't when trail riding in dry areas, although I have a special little box that puts out the cigarette and stores the butts. It fits neatly in my saddlebags.
