That's the thing, people who smoke don't realize how stinky it is. Like I said, I grew up with a mother who smoked in the house, in the car, everywhere. I was used to the smell. Once I left for boarding school, it was the first time I'd been away from the smoke. She'd send me packages, and I could hardly even open them because they stunk so badly. Smoke doesn't just stay in your little bubble, it diffuses. Your horses smell it, other riders smell it, people walking by smell it.

And some horses will freak if they smell smoke.
I'm not a big fan of smoking in general (My grandpa died of lung cancer), but I'm not going to tell anyone not to.

It is a rule at our barn, though, for safety reasons.
