Makes me Mad

Sorry to rant you guys but some people make me so mad...

First off my roomate is a know it all when it coems to anything horses. She thinks she knows everything and anything about them. She talks about all teh big shows she has been to in Washingtion (been to not shown in) and about how her horse is so wonderful. She has no people skills it seems to me and our other friend sometimes. Sigh and thats not all... she is a know it all about EVERYTHING ELSE as well. She informed me that horse with longer pasterns can not be hunters. She also ALWAYS calls warmbloods dumbloods just because she doesn't like them. She always brags about training her horse but she keeps him at her trainers barn and I know for a fact that her trainer was helping her the whole time. Nothing wrong wuith that but she should NOT be claiming she trained him herself. I trained MY filly myself. No trainer no nothin. Only me. She also brags about how she makes sooo much money training hosrses in Washington and how she trains these ponies and mules and blahblah $15 an hour. She just is a huge braggert. It gets worse. I took her home iwth me after a show (colleg IHSA show two day one so we went to my house and my mom brought us back in the AM). I allowed her to ruide MY 4 year old mare who I have never let anyone on. I trusted her enough to let her even though the mare is wild and just green broke and has no proff. training. She is still a good horse and was good for my friend. I then let her riude my arab gelding and ruin around on him (even though she is too tall and too large to really be on him and can't ride western for ****). So one day she invites me to her barn (here at school in Indiana). So I am like ok and I take myt half chaps and my boots and head out. She gets him out and I fawn over him the proper way you should. So she gets on him.. decides teh arena is too muddy... makes me walk ahalf a mile to this field... ride him while I sit and twiddle my thumbs for an HOUR, never offers to let me ride, and when I ask if I can try him she r\REFUSES! The whole ordeal took like 4 hours before we got back and cause me to miss dinner at the dorms.

She also lieks to claim taht her hunter can beat my contester in barrels and poles.... ugh!!!! I took my arab to state for keyghole and got 3rd out of 40 peoples... 40! She ****** me off... her and her ugly horse.

I am done now... sorry all but this has not been my week

I won't go so far as to call her your friend -- gah, what a brat! I'm sorry she did that to you and that you've had to deal with her attitude. I doubt I would've been nice enough to let someone with an attitude like that up on my horse. Sometimes when a person is really insecure, they feel the need to always have something "bigger" and "better" to say; they will spend all of their time trying to make you feel inferior, and sometimes they won't even realize they're doing it.

My advice would be to ignore her when she's patting herself on the back. If she starts telling you about how great her horse is, say something like, "Oh, yeah? That's really nice. We're getting some nice weather today, aren't we?" Move onto another subject. Just make it really clear that you're not impressed by her bragging. You can handle her politely and still be, in essence, shooting her down... eventually she should get the idea.

I hate people like that! They are so horribly annoying!

I would ignore her. We have the same problem with this girl who boards at my trainers place. Bla Bla Bla all the time about how wonderful her pig of a horse is(it really is. It is horribley natured and a pig to ride). She starts talking and we literally switch off. As soon as we hear her horses name its like our brain turns offlol. Or we change the subject!

Or just walk away. Don't reply. Or like jenje said, quickly change the subject to something not horses. Talk about.......Butterflys!lol

Talk about how your going to shove her head down a toilet if she carries on...

Just playing, Make up something really silly about horses, I don't know something like theirs a new breed of male horse that can give birth or something, Or something more believeable lol then see if she blags about knowing all about it. She'l look incredibley silly and you can laugh when you see her reaction to "i was joking" That should keep her quite for a while

Wow...people like that really tick me off. There's actually a few people at my barn, so I know how you feel. The one girl thinks she's so great because she leases a horse...oooh, big deal. When the new horse (who had been there for 2 weeks) was out in the aisle being blanketed, I was standing near him along with another girl, and then the girl putting the blanket on. Not fussing with him, just patted him a couple of times and then stood back against the wall. And keep in mind, this horse is a former SHOW horse...I am sure he is used to a lot of people.
So anyway, this girl is grooming a horse in the next set of crossties back, and she goes, "We don't want a lot of people standing near him since he's so new." I was like...umm, okay. Where did "we" come from? She's just a volunteer like the rest of us. I usually just tune her out, but sometimes she gets to me. Gah. Every barn has one...

There are so many people like that, it's ridiculous. I know a girl that just tells outright lies. And you can totally tell she is a liar because she has such outrageous stories, not just about horses, about EVERYTHING. And she talks about how much of an expert rider she is and all this nonsense. Mean while I have only ever seen her ride like 3 times because she is always coming up with excuses not to. People like that are really insecure and have no inner strength. I wouldn't try to outdo her, seeing as that's not even possible since she's so delusional. I would just ignore her like Jenji said. If she isn't being heard, there is no reason for her to continue her ridiculousness.

i know what u r going thru. not to be mean, but i understand u won 3rd out of 40 in state, but at the washington shows she is probally competing in alot tuffer divisions against more people and that are way out of state. i use to barrel race and i got my time down to 14.59 so i dunno, but i totally understand what u r saying i deal with these type of people all the time. plus she aint a good rider if she cant ride a warmblood, cuz u have to be very percise on what u ask of them. well GL and keep your cool!

I speed read through your post. your friend has a problem and it is called low self esteem, this is why she is braging to make herself look good, yet deep inside she does not feel this way. and she is depressed and suffering.

No she does not even own a WESTERN SADDLE! She doesn't run properly thats my point. If she was a barrel runner then ok but she rides hunters. She does not even show hunters because she "doesn't have the money" but she was able to spend $1,000 to have her horse hauled from washington to Indiana. Also I do not think you know how competitive it gets in contesting here. The top 3 in my county run in rodeos all over the country as well and win. So you cannot judge me and say that competitions there are harder, not to mention she always says that as well. ANytime I mention competing in B circuit hunters she goes "oh thats nothing... B circuit is sooo easy its nothing.. winning there isn't hard at all" And it was not in barrels I got 3rd, it was keyhole which is very different.

I also want to know why you think the washington competitions would be so much harder than ones here in Indiana... especially when its the top competitors from each county. You dont go unless y0ou are good (mostly... some people go and suck but yeah). I understand its State so its 4-H and stuff and its no one from out of state but hat doesnot mean she competes with people from out of state and in Indiana especially in my county its very competitive. Just yeah no she is not a contester she does not do it formally in real shows... she doesnt own a western saddle...she is full of ****.

Yeah so I have calmed donw some now... you can see her horse in teh critique section... she wanted people to critique him because she thinks they wnt find any flaws besides cow hocked... which he is a nice looking horse but hes not like super A circuit quality.
