I buy a plain leather hide and whatever other colorful hide I want to go on top. Cut both hides to the shape and size that I want the noseband, pick the conchos I want on it, cut off the noseband on a nylon halter and fix the bronc noseband to the halter.

Before putting the noseband on the halter, I set the swarovski crystals or round spots on it.

I can do the nosebands in hair on hide as well, but it will be real.
Oh I always wondered how to do that If you don't mind me asking how do you attach the plain leather hide and the colorful hide together? Do you just glue it? Stitch it?

I leave a tail on the leather to put through where the noseband attaches to the halter. You need to be sure the leather is long and thin enough to allow the noseband to move freely.

Here is a picture:

I use glue. I don't have a sewing machine that will go through leather....yet

The rim set stones also help hold the nose colorful hide on. You can also use fabric that you would buy from Joann's. Its best to buy fabric that won't fray.

Great Thanks I have 2 large peices of hide that I didn't know what to do with. And I have a bunch of crystals too. I think I'll try and make one.

Thanks

It should be ok. The base leather I use is a little less than a 1/4" thick.

I just hauled my peices out from the basement and they are about 1/4 thick too. Now I'm having fun trying to figure out what conchos and bling I want on it Thanks again lol I always wanted to make one but didn't know how.

You could try and buy a belly. It is a much smaller peice of leather. I bought mine for $15 each but they are pretty large.

The guy at the store said that they are a lower quaility leather and tend to streach more than normal leather.
