Maine Coons

Does anyone have a Maine Coon cat or know much about them? I am looking into getting a big cat and I am wondering what they are really like? How big do they actually get?

yup! i had one- and she had 5 kittens. she was really LONG and was as big as my other cats at only 9 months old. im sure if she hadn't have ran away she would be huge now!, as kittens they are a little crazy, they definatly arent the lap cats that some other breeds are. she never had any health problems or anything. i really enjoyed her company and she was a good cat. any other questions? feel free to ask

My sister has one.
He is at least 20lbs, if not more.

She has had him for about 8 years.

He is a lover.

I had one... she was great. Well, I loved her... everyone else barely tolerated her.

She was not an overly friendly cat. She had her couple people that she loved to be with, but otherwise she would 'disappear' when others were around.

I used to have a rescued Maine Coon, and he was huge. VERY long, and weighed about 17 lbs. But a complete love, I never figured out why anyone would abandon him.

I have one. He is the coolest cat I've ever owned! Right now he's 11 pounds at 8-9 months old. They are very unique cats.
