Magnets to reduce swelling??

I bought a pair of magnetic hock boots for my older gelding. He has some swelling, most likely from arthritis, in his left hock that won't seem to go down. There is not heat and he isn't lame. Someone suggested to try the magnetic boots.

Has anyone used them? And if so how long did you keep them on?

I've tried them years ago when I had a mare with hock arthritis ..bad arthritis...and yes the magnetic therapy helped a lot ...whether or not it'll take the swelling down (have you tried hose therapy) I don't know but will get the blood circulating..I would put it on at night(horse was stalled at the time) and take it off in the morning....good luck

Have a girl friend whos TB ruptured and mangled every tendon in her horses L front from a freak accident. She's been using magnet therapy along with IRAP (sorta like stem cell). The vet calls him the miracle horse. He can't believe the swelling reduction and the heeling. He's not one for hocus pocus stuff but he said he thinks maybe the magnets had something to do with the great heeling thats happening.

I'm definitely a believer in the magnetic therapy. I've been really blessed to never have the need to use them on my horses, but my mom started using them back in the 90's and got the rest of the family using them- they really work! I use them when I throw my back out (which, FYI, I haven't done since I started riding! Chalk one up for riding as exercise!)

I believe the theory is that there are trace amounts of magnetic metals in our blood stream, and applying a magnet to one area of the body helps draw blood to it- which helps things heal faster.
