I would think she would have *some* on her face with that much under her tail... but my App has none on her face and yet her udder and tail are full of spots so I guess that doesn't hold water. lol

What a beautiful girl you have! I like her pedigree as well.
My Palomino's "nether" regions are all spotted like hers too... I think that's just a Palomino thing. He's also got a couple of Bend Or spots and has Bend Or in his pedigree a few times.

She traces back to Plaudette (pintaloosa Pre AQHA registry- Dam of Madden's Bright Eyes and Bright Eyes Brother) Twice that I see 8 and 9 generations back. But not any of the other well known Appaloosa lines. and with only one horse of known LP carrying that far back it's not likely it got passed on down all that time with all the solid breeding in front of it.

And that Mare doesn't exhibit LP characteristics to me.

WOW! So she traces to a known splash line there too!

But your appy is not seriously diluted by many many many generations of QH... so do we really know?

Compare this to DB gelding...

But DB's gelding is also palomino... which I firmly believe is the cause of those spots on both horses.

LOL I guess my palominos are weird because they do not have that... they just have normal... boring under tail colors...

LOL! I've always said you had an unusual herd. LOL!

I see more palominos with skin like that than I do apps.

This is the mottling I am used to:

This is the only shot I've got that shows her funny teats at all:

(She was not mine then so I was NOT responsible for those feet. They are quite nice now.)

And a head shot showing virtually no characteristics at all:

OH WAIT!

I did forget to mention that she does have striped hooves.. Sorry.

Here are some pics:

One big stripe on the right fore along with minor striping that's hard to see in this pic:

Back Feet (more minor striping):
