I also know what you mean about different opinions...that is the nice and sometimes hard thing about the horse world. Nothing is set in stone on how to do things with your horse. There are millions of ideas and you have to pick and choose what works for you. I will try that when she gets older but I know she is way too young to try it right now. I will do what I can when I can with my horses but if it doesn't work I know that there is always something different to try and new ways for horses. Just got to keep an open mind and always want to learn. If you stop learning then you don't know anything and if you keep learning you can almost know everything. Atleast that is what I think about the horse world. You can have your ways but always be willing to atleast look on some other ways, that is how you improve yourself and your horses.
I was told they started the LL classes for the horses that weren't built like the halter horses, but more preformance bred. They mostly judge on the movement so that is why they ask for all 3 gaites going both ways. But they also understand that these are young horses so don't ask for more than the 90 seconds worth.

You are right, there are so many ways to get to the same point. When I first joined on here I got very frustrated because I was working with a trainer that was having me do certain things that people on here said was completely wrong. It is very hard to know which way is best especially when one of those people is right there in front of you explaining why they are having you do what they are and you can see the results versus people on here attempting to explain it with out the hands on view you may be getting. Just don't do like I did and think too much about whether you are doing something that is bad for your horse or not, you know in your heart what your horse can deal with and how to handle them better than anyone on here because she is your horse.

I have to say this is the weirdest class I've ever heard of, lol. Is it like a halter class with lunging at the end of it?

What this class does is gives the yearlings that would probably not be able to compete against the stockier halter bred yearlings, a class to show off what they are basically bred for, and that is the performance classes, WP, HUS etc.

Think about it like this, there are horses that will never do well in the WP, HUS, etc type classes and that are only bred and only do halter. Since as a yearling there is only a handfull of types of classes you can do, they added some for the yearlings that aren't gona be doing halter their whole careers like some of the halter horses.
